Christchurch Infants School Early Years vision
“I just played all day!”
At Christchurch Infants School, we fully believe in nurturing the whole child and supporting their holistic development, whatever their individual starting point may be. We have high expectations for all learners and, through our play approach to learning, challenge all pupils to explore and learn in our carefully resourced indoor and outdoor environments. We centre all of our practise around getting to know each unique child in our care, and tailoring the learning to their individual needs and interests. Communication skills are at the heart of your child’s development and we strive to create a language rich environment through high quality adult interactions and lots of opportunities to learn and use new vocabulary, including daily story time to develop a love of stories and reading.
We want all children to feel safe and to be happy and excited to come to school and be curious as to what they will be learning. We nurture children to become independent and confident learners through exposing children to challenge and encouraging them to show resilience in their learning. We also support children to develop their social skills to enable them to play and learn alongside their peers and make friends.
