Computing

Computing consists of three main areas, these being:

Here at Christchurch Infants School, we aim to use computing skills to enhance learning across the curriculum, and help children to understand the importance and place of computing in the world in which we all live. In the Early Years, children have discrete computing lessons, to build confidence and computing ability. They are then given opportunities to consolidate and build on these skills within their lessons. In Key Stage One, each class has seven assigned computers or laptops. These are used for the teaching of computing skills and to enhance the learning across the curriculum. Each class also has a range of additional computing equipment to aid learning and complement teaching styles, such as Interactive Whiteboards, Sound Stations and Voice Recorders. Children are also taught to be ‘e-safe’ and to respect all equipment.
